I can't go to Microsoft's "launch" of Vista/Office 2007

I'm so pissed. I thought I had everything covered in planning for me to be able to go to this Microsoft "launch" tomorrow .... My brother-in-law was taking the day off tomorrow so I could take my mom there for the day .... I was supposed to drive down tonite, but now this damn snow has cancelled that one (if it was just me, I'd risk driving ... but I can't take those kind of chances with mom in the car) .... but, my sister said it's still OK, she would come here tomorrow morning and be with mom so I could go .... but, as she's telling me this on the phone, I'm hearing that she's really sick with some kind of bug, so I DEFINITELY do not want her to come here, nor do I want to take mom to her place.

So, now, instead of going to the Microsoft thing tomorrow (can't do it, unless I have someone to take care of mom), I have to buy the software that I would have gotten for free (gonna cost me almost 500 bux). Or, not ... I'm trying to decide if it's worth the money to update my online classes and ebooks. Maybe I'll just sit on it for a while ... we shall see.
