Finally, I got Vista and I'm NOT impressed

My laptop died and I decided it was time to get a new one, rather than have it repaired ... so, I figured what the heck, I'll get one with Vista installed ... so, I got Vista Ultimate.

Ultimate what, I'm not sure. I just don't see why anyone would spend money to get Vista instead of XP .... typical of Microsoft, both Vista and Office 2007 don't really offer much new, but everything has been moved around so you waste a lot of time trying to figure out where it is ... but, I thought at least Vista would be pretty .... wrong!! You should see the desktop choices ... they are downright OOOGLY!! And, the themes don't offer anything you couldn't have in XP by downloading some skins. Oh .... and these "Ultimate Extras" are a joke!

So far, I'm totally disappointed ... I see no reason for anyone to give up Windows XP or Office 2003, for these new and *ahem* "improved?" versions.

I say "I just don't see why anyone would spend money to get Vista OR XP"
Have you ever tried a Linux distribution like Ubuntu? Easy to install and configure, no more viruses, no more worries, it's stable...and free!!

    P.S.:your blog is very interesting!
P.P.S.: hope I've not made too many English mistakes :-)

  • Hi,
I like blogging. It gives the writer a chance to express himself or herself about a topic of interest without worrying about grammar or capitalization, which Phoenix failed to acknowledge in the comment made. Was the point of your post to get a grammar check? As far as your original post, thank you for the heads up because I was looking for Vista as an XP replacement, but why bother now?
